Nvidia Gives Away Classic GeForce 8800 Ultra GPU Signed by CEO Jensen Huang

Nvidia is giving away a limited number of GeForce 8800 Ultra graphics cards, each signed by CEO Jensen Huang, as part of its GeForce Greats campaign. This initiative celebrates Nvidia’s legacy of innovation and gives fans a chance to own a piece of computing history.

The GeForce 8800 Ultra, launched in 2007, marked a major milestone in GPU technology. Built on the G80 architecture, it introduced support for CUDA technology, revolutionizing parallel computing.

With 128 CUDA cores, a 612 MHz core clock speed, and 768 MB of GDDR3 memory on a 384-bit interface, the 8800 Ultra set new performance benchmarks and became a favorite among gamers and professionals.

While Nvidia previously gave away its first GPU, the GeForce 256, as part of the GeForce Greats campaign, the company now highlights the GeForce 8800 Ultra for its historical significance.

Although it was technically the second CUDA-capable GPU (after the GeForce GTX in 2006), the 8800 Ultra delivered a massive performance leap and cemented Nvidia’s leadership in GPU innovation.

This giveaway stands out because each GeForce 8800 Ultra card features Jensen Huang’s signature, making it a unique collectible.

Nvidia also plans to announce giveaways for three more iconic GPUs in the coming days, with one GPU revealed each day. These GPUs will celebrate Nvidia’s most groundbreaking contributions to the industry.

To enter the GeForce 8800 Ultra giveaway, fans must comment #GeForceGreats on Nvidia’s official X account post. This entry method will also apply to the upcoming GPU giveaways.

Notably, the GeForce 8800 Ultra is not part of the previously announced GeForce Greats mystery boxes, such as the Diablo-themed box that included the GeForce 256.
