In a recent announcement, Nintendo revealed two versions of the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, each with distinct pricing and availability.
The Japanese-Language Nintendo Switch 2, exclusive to Japan, will retail for 49,980 yen (approximately $345 USD).
This version is tailored specifically for the Japanese market, supporting only Japanese as the system language and requiring a Japan-based Nintendo Account.
On the other hand, the Multi-Language Nintendo Switch 2 will be available globally—including in North America, Europe, Australia, and parts of Asia—at a higher price of 69,980 yen (approximately $483 USD).
This version offers broader language support and compatibility with international Nintendo Accounts.
Nintendo is offering a special bundle: the Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World Set, which includes the Japanese-Language console and a digital copy of Mario Kart World, priced at 53,980 yen (around $372 USD).
For those interested in purchasing Mario Kart World separately, the digital version costs 8,980 yen (62 USD), while the physical edition is slightly more expensive at 9,980 yen (69 USD).
The price gap between the two systems—20,000 yen (approximately $138 USD )—highlights Nintendo’s strategy to make the Japanese-language model more accessible to local consumers, despite its regional limitations.
Meanwhile, the higher-priced Multi-Language version caters to international markets, ensuring broader usability and appeal.
