HoYoverse Expands the Flame-Chase Journey with the “Light Slips the Gate, Shadow Greets the Throne” Update.
The next major update for Honkai: Star Rail is just around the corner. Version 3.1, titled “Light Slips the Gate, Shadow Greets the Throne,” is set to launch on February 26, 2025, bringing new story content, two powerful 5-star characters, and fresh in-game events to the game’s ever-expanding universe.
This update continues the Flame-Chase Journey, taking Trailblazers into uncharted territories as they race against time to unravel the truth behind the catastrophe and restore hope to the world of Okhema.
A New Chapter Begins: The Grove of Epiphany and Abyss of Fate
Following the events of the previous update, Nikador’s Coreflame has been reclaimed, but the battle is far from over.
Players will travel to the Grove of Epiphany, a once-revered city-state of knowledge now under siege from the black tide. As Trailblazers work to rescue survivors and uncover hidden truths, a powerful adversary seeks to claim the Coreflame of Cerces for their own.
Meanwhile, in the Abyss of Fate (formerly Janusopolis), players will awaken echoes of the past using the power of Oronyx, uncovering secrets from the Era Chrysea and unlocking mysteries tied to the new 5-star character, Tribbie.
Two New 5-Star Characters Join the Roster
✨ Tribbie (Quantum, Path of Harmony) – A demigod of Amphoreus and Holy Maiden of Janusopolis, Tribbie embodies support and battlefield control. She can:
- Deploy a special zone that increases enemy damage taken.
- Trigger follow-up attacks frequently to wear down foes.
- Elevate her team’s combat potential by amplifying damage output.
🔥 Mydei (Imaginary, Path of Destruction) – The Crown Prince of Castrum Kremnos, Mydei thrives in high-risk, high-reward combat:
- Consumes his own HP to charge up and enter an enhanced battle form.
- Automatically counterattacks after being hit.
- Delivers massive AoE damage, making him a powerhouse in aggressive playstyles.
Additionally, fan-favorite 5-star characters Yunli and Huohuo will return in the Version 3.1 Warp Event, offering Trailblazers another chance to recruit these powerful allies.
New Gameplay Features & Events
Beyond the main storyline, Version 3.1 introduces several new gameplay systems and limited-time events:
🌙 Divergent Universe – Day and Night System
- A new roguelike battle mode where combat shifts between Day and Night phases.
- Each phase provides unique buffs, while transitions between them trigger additional effects.
🐺 The Awooo Firm Event
- Players will manage a chimera squad in Okhema, helping them train, strategize, and rise to the top.
- A mix of resource management and team-building mechanics for a fresh gameplay experience.
