Are you hungry for something weirdly fun? SWAP/MEAT, the co-op roguelite shooter that’s anything but ordinary, is serving up its next playtest on Friday, September 6th, at 11 AM Pacific Time, running until Tuesday, September 10th.
Developed by One More Game (OMG), this fresh and meaty adventure invites you and your friends to raid alien worlds, swap body parts, and create the ultimate fighting machine.
What’s Cooking in SWAP/MEAT?
In SWAP/MEAT, you take on the role of a ‘Meat Scientist’ for Rangus Meats, a multi-galactic company on a quest to find the universe’s most sustainable meat. Your mission?
Defeat some very angry aliens, steal their meat (literally), and use their body parts to power up your hero. Swap heads, legs, and torsos with the alien creatures you defeat, gaining new abilities to switch up your playstyle in real time.
This is a 1-4 player co-op shooter, so gather your squad and get ready to raid bizarre worlds.
Successfully extract ‘meat cores’ from three planets, and you’ll face off against a bizarre boss in a final, brutal brawl.
Join the Playtest and Bring Your Friends
OMG is inviting you to be part of the SWAP/MEAT playtest. You can register now, and if you bring three friends along, your entire squad gets in.
The first Meat Lab playtest in July brought loads of feedback, and the devs have been cooking up a long list of improvements—from visual upgrades to refined systems.
Hot Off the Grill and Award-Winning
After showcasing at Gamescom, PAX, and winning the ‘Creative Overkill’ award at devcom Indie Awards, SWAP/MEAT is bringing the heat.
Although the game’s still under a year of development, the team at OMG is ready to dish out more fun—and they promise, the Intergalactic Food & Drug Administration is wildly overstating the risk of foodborne illness.
As Jamie Stormbreaker, co-founder of OMG, says: “We couldn’t be more hyped to invite players to sample the rich umami flavor of SWAP/MEAT.”
You can wishlist the games on Steam now.
