Indie development studio ExoGenesis Studios has announced a significant step forward for their upcoming Metroidvania title, INAYAH – Life After Gods, by securing a global publishing partnership with experienced publisher Headup.
This collaboration revealed following a successful Kickstarter campaign for the game, signals a wider reach and enhanced support as INAYAH gears up for its release on PC and consoles in 2025.
For indie developers, securing a solid publishing partner can be a game-changer, and this deal for ExoGenesis Studios is undoubtedly a positive development.
Headup, known for its multi-platform expertise and distribution network, will be working closely with the studio to bring INAYAH to a global audience.

This partnership encompasses distribution and launch support across PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms, broadening the game’s potential player base considerably.
Konstantin Okorochkov, CEO of ExoGenesis Studios, highlighted Headup’s understanding of the Metroidvania genre and their console publishing expertise as key factors in the partnership.

Dieter Schoeller, CEO of Headup, echoed this enthusiasm, praising the “strong narrative and gameplay experience” crafted by ExoGenesis.
For those unfamiliar, INAYAH – Life After Gods is set in a visually striking, hand-drawn post-apocalyptic world. Players will step into the role of Inayah, an orphaned outcas,t on a quest to find her tribe, guided by her mentor’s spirit.

The game promises a blend of exploration, combat utilizing Inayah’s versatile alien-tech Gauntlet, RPG-style character customization, and a narrative rich with emotional depth and multiple endings.
Adding to the game’s appeal is an original score by Alex Kestner and top-tier voice acting, including Jessica Caroll of Baldur’s Gate 3 fame.

To further engage the community, ExoGenesis has also launched a demo Speedrun Challenge, inviting players to test their skills and get a taste of the gameplay before the full release. This is a clever move to build momentum and generate player feedback.
While a publishing deal is not a guarantee of success, this partnership between ExoGenesis Studios and Headup positions INAYAH – Life After Gods for a stronger launch and wider visibility.
For fans of Metroidvanias and those eager to support promising indie projects, INAYAH is certainly one to keep an eye on as we move closer to its anticipated 2025 release. It will be interesting to see how this collaboration unfolds and how Headup’s support helps INAYAH reach its full potential.
