Destiny 2: Season 22 Preview – Exotic Armor Changes

Bungie released a preview of the Exotic armor changes in Season 22 of Destiny 2. The changes aim to make more Exotics viable in PvE and PvP, including buffs to underused Exotics and nerf to some of the most powerful ones.

These changes aim to make them more functional, a positive update to revive exotics players aren’t using much in the meta-game. The most notable changes affect ACD/0 Feedback Fence, Orpheus Rigs, and Heart of Inmost Light.

The most notable changes of this new season

The most noticeable change in the Season 22 Exotic armor update is the Nerf to Geomag Stabilizers. The Nerf to Geomag Stabilizers were made in response to the Exotic being too powerful in both PvE and PvP. The change will likely make Stormcaller Warlocks less of a threat in both game modes.

The old version of Geomag Stabilizers allowed Stormcaller Warlocks to spam their Supers very quickly. The new version of the Exotic no longer gives you as much Super energy back, so you will need to be more strategic about when you use your Super.

Another noticeable change is the buff to ACD/0 Feedback Fence. It now activates when you take any damage, not just melee damage. This makes it a much more viable choice for Titans in PvE and PvP.

Bungie Nerf the Geomag Stabilizers in Destiny Season 22

Geomag Stabilizers are one of the most powerful Exotics in the game, and their nerf is likely to have a big impact on the meta.

The nerf to Geomag Stabilizers reduces the Super energy gain from the Exotic by 50%. This means that Stormcaller Warlocks can no longer spam their Supers as easily. This is a significant nerf, making Stormcaller Warlocks less of a threat in both PvE and PvP.

The adjustment made to the Geomag Stabilizers may encourage Stormcaller Warlocks to consider using other Exotics that are now more viable. One such option is the Crown of Tempests Exotic, which grants a damage boost for every stack of Arc Soul you possess. This boost can be accumulated up to 5 times, enhancing the strength of your Stormcaller Super.

The recent nerf to Geomag Stabilizers is a positive change for the game. This alteration will bring more balance to the meta and provide players with greater options. Observing how the meta evolves in Season 22 with the Geomag Stabilizers’ nerf will be fascinating.

Buff Update to ACD/0 Feedback Fence

ACD/0 Feedback Fence is an Exotic chest armor for Titans that used to be very situational. It would only activate when you took melee damage, and it would only damage enemies close to you. The changes in Season 22 make it a much more versatile Exotic.

Now, ACD/0 Feedback Fence will activate when you take any damage, not just melee damage. This means you can use it to defend yourself against all attacks, including gunfire and elemental damage. The Exotic’s damage has increased, making it more effective at killing enemies.

The changes to ACD/0 Feedback Fence make it a much more viable choice for Titans in both PvE and PvP. In PvE, you can use it to defend yourself against tough enemies and deal damage to groups of enemies. In PvP, you can use it to counter aggressive players who like to get in your face.

Orpheus Rigs have been buffed

The Exotic’s damage buff has increased, making it a more powerful choice for Nightstalker Hunters. You can use it to deal more damage to enemies and generate more Orbs of Light for your team.

For me, the Orpheus Rigs buff is important because they can generate a lot of Super energy. When you tether a group of enemies with your Shadowshot Super, you will generate a lot of Orbs of Light. Your teammates can pick up these Orbs of Light to give them Super energy.

This makes the Orpheus Rigs a powerful Exotic for PvE and PvP. In PvE, you can use it to deal a lot of damage to enemies and generate a lot of Orbs of Light for your team. In PvP, you can use it to tether groups of enemies and then quickly kill them with your Super.

The Heart of Inmost Light

The Heart of Inmost Light is an Exotic chest armor for Titans that has also been buffed in the Season 22 update. The Exotic now gives you more Super energy for using your abilities, making it a more potent option for Sunbreaker Titans. This means you can use your abilities more often, giving you a significant advantage in both PvE and PvP.

The Heart of Inmost Light also has a unique perk called “Empowered Light.” This perk allows you to get a damage buff after using your abilities. The damage buff lasts for a short time, but it can be very helpful in taking down formidable enemies.

The Heart of Inmost Light changes makes it a much more viable choice for Sunbreaker Titans in both PvE and PvP. In PvE, you can use it to deal more damage to enemies and clear out groups of enemies quickly. In PvP, you can use it to take down opponents with your Super or your abilities.

Wormhusk Crown

The Wormhusk Crown is an Exotic helmet for Hunters that has also been buffed in the Season 22 update. The Exotic now heals you for more health when you dodge, making it a more viable choice for Arcstrider Hunters. During your party, you can be more aggressive in battle and take more risks, knowing you can heal quickly.

The Wormhusk Crown also has a unique perk called “Recovery.” This perk allows you to recover health faster after dodging. This perk can be very helpful in PvP, where you can quickly heal yourself after a gunfight.

The changes to the Wormhusk Crown make it a much more viable choice for Arcstrider Hunters in both PvE and PvP. In PvE, you can use it to stay alive longer and take down tough enemies. In PvP, you can use it to quickly heal yourself after a gunfight and get back into the fight.

The release date of Season 22 of Destiny 2 is expected to be Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 10am PDT/1pm EDT/6pm BST/7pm CEST.
