“Sid Meier’s Civilization VII” will launch on February 12th, gracing PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC platforms.
The game will introduce a different approach to ages compared to previous titles, with ages that span longer periods and have more impactful differences.
“Civilization VII” divides history into three Ages: Antiquity, Exploration, and Modern. Today, the developers officially unveiled the Qing Dynasty/Qing Empire, representing China in the Modern Age, accompanied by a thematic soundtrack.
The Qing Dynasty in “Civilization VII” features a unique ability called the “Prosperous Age of Kangxi and Qianlong.” This ability increases gold, culture, and influence from imported resources, but it decreases science.
The Qing Dynasty, according to the official description, marked a turning point, bringing together the Han majority with Manchu rulers to form an expansionist, industrial government. They expanded their territory, while simultaneously contending with European imperial powers.
The Qing Dynasty also boasts a unique civic tree, infrastructure, civilian unit, military unit, and associated wonder:
Unique Ability:
- Prosperous Age of Kangxi and Qianlong: Imported resources increase gold, culture, and influence but decrease science.
Attributes: Economy, Expansion
Civic Tree:
- Ten Great Campaigns (Level 1): Increases combat strength of all units for each leader with whom you have a trade route. Unlocks the “Venturing into the Northeast” tradition.
- Tradition – Venturing into the Northeast: Increases town development rate after distributing resources.
- Open Customs (Level 1): Unlocks the Qianzhuang unique building and the “Cohong” tradition. Gains culture for each imported resource. Increases settlement limits.
- Tradition – Cohong: Increases trade income.
- Kangxi Tax Reform (Level 1): Unlocks the Examination Hall’s unique building and the “Farmland Assessment” tradition. Gains food from resources allocated to cities.
- Tradition – Farmland Assessment: Increases production when producing land units.
- Stabilize Borders (Level 1): Gains happiness from resources allocated to cities. Unlocks the “Eight Banners Army” tradition and the Chengde Mountain Resort wonder.
- Tradition – Eight Banners Army: Increases combat strength against land units.
Unique Infrastructure:
- Guild Hall: Unique district. Increases the influence of this settlement.
- Examination Hall: Unique building. Science base. Provides a happiness adjacency bonus.
- Qianzhuang: Unique building. Gold base. Provides a gold adjacency bonus.
Unique Civilian Unit:
- Merchant: Unique merchant unit. Gains gold for each resource obtained when creating a naval trade route.
Unique Military Unit:
- Eight Banners Army: Unique infantry unit. Increases combat strength if adjacent to another Eight Banners Army unique infantry unit.
Associated Wonder:
- Chengde Mountain Resort: Gold base. Increases culture for each trade route with another civilization. It must be built adjacent to mountains.

The game’s developers recommend a minimum PC configuration of an i5-10400/R5 3600X processor coupled with an RTX 2060/RX 6600/Arc A750 level graphics card.
For advanced settings, an i7-14700F/R9 5950X processor with an RTX 4070/RX 7800 XT level card is recommended.
